Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly flexible and motivated Interim Accountant to join our team on a hybrid basis, working 2 days in the office and 3 days at home. The specific arrangement can be discussed with the line manager to accommodate individual preferences and needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Utilise your experience in working with Advanced Financials and Capita Pay360 systems to efficiently manage financial operations.
  • Possess an AAT or a professional accountancy qualification, combined with relevant post-qualification experience in an accountancy/finance office, to contribute to the team’s success.
  • Play a crucial role in budget setting, monitoring, and forecasting processes, ensuring financial stability and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey financial information to non-finance staff members.
  • Exhibit supervisory skills and collaborate seamlessly with the team to achieve shared goals.
  • Utilize your organizational abilities to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines with precision.
  • Demonstrate a profound understanding of accounting principles and practices, including expertise in Statement of Accounts production.
  • Ideally, hold the position of Accountant at level 3 or 4 within the attached career grade, although applications at a lower grade will also be considered.
  • Leverage your experience in the Local Government Sector and change and project management to contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes.
Requirements:
  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid manner, combining office and remote work.
  • Proven experience in utilizing Advanced Financials and Capita Pay360 systems effectively.
  • AAT or a professional accountancy qualification, with relevant post-qualification experience in an accountancy/finance office.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budget setting, monitoring, and forecasting.
  • Extensive proficiency in Excel and other relevant computing tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate financial information effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Strong supervisory and teamwork skills to collaborate efficiently with colleagues.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines accurately.
  • Sound understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in Statement of Accounts production will be beneficial.
  • Prior experience in the Local Government Sector is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with change and project management is a plus.
