Job Description

Job and Person Specification Job Title: Projects / Engineering Manager Responsible to: Managing Director Main Duties and Responsibilities Project Management: Item selection – Aid in customers in choosing the right specification and solution for their requirements Carry out calculations required to justify product selection and for customers reference Obtain quotes from suppliers to support project costings Support the Sales Manager in the build-up of quotes Conduct site surveys Project scheduling and planning milestones / project tasks Produce & Compile Parts Lists, Cutting Lists & BOMs for each project Ordering component required for projects Carry our Risk Assessments and produce method statements for each project Oversee warranties and address any issues with new equipment while under warranty Catalogue costs occurred during each project Address any snagging issues with new equipment Sign off on all completed works and obtain signature from the customer Organise weekly project meetings Work closely with the sales team & sales manager to secure profitable sales Liaise with customers, colleagues and company departments at regular intervals throughout projects Design / R&D: Produce 2D / 3D Drawings – Site layouts, Electrical Schematics, Fabrication Drawings, General arrangements (GA’s) or overall builds. Design or Auxiliary items – Tracks, Chutes, Hoppers, Wires guides Research & Development on issues with existing machines Development methods/parts to support existing machines i.e. work arounds and replacement of obsolete parts Work with external suppliers where required Health & Safety Management: Produce Risk assessments – Identify, monitor risks and produce detailed workarounds/policies Inspection & Testing of machinery and other items the required testing Gather support information and documentation to aid in better understanding or risks and way to keep staff and visitors safe. Produce method statements that details a clear way of working to keep people safe Quality Assurance: Set quality objectives and milestones Quality control & Inspection of all builds before they leave the factory Carry out Audits to ensure Current Policies, Procedures etc. are being adhered to and that all staff are working to and use ISO standards in the workplace. ISO meetings – check the current stage of the ISO and it polices/documentation to show external auditor. Person Specification Previous experience working as a Project/Engineering Manager Experience working in the engineering sector Experience overseeing projects from start to finish Ability to read and produce 2D/3D Drawings and technical specifications Exceptional Planning, Organisational and Communication skills Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, policies and practices Knowledge of ISO standards Comfortable travelling to around the UK where required Qualifications and Certification Bachelor’s degree or HND in Project Management Project Management Certification PMP (Desired) In the absence of formal qualifications, relevant previous experience will be considered Additional Information Type of Employment: Permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday (Full time) + Overtime Location: Bridgwater Remuneration: £35,000 + Bonus Written By: Adam Pearce (03/12/2021)
