Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the position of Planning Officer. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and development process of an Off-shore Wind Farm application in the North Devon area. This position is entirely flexible, allowing the officer to work from home, with occasional site visits to North Devon as necessary.


Responsibilities:

  • Review and assess the planning application for compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, environmental agencies, and local authorities to address concerns and ensure adherence to guidelines.
  • Conduct occasional site visits to the North Devon area as required by the planning application process.
  • Provide on-site assessment and gather relevant information to support the planning decision-making process.
  • Manage and respond to all correspondence and Freedom of Information (FOI) requests associated with the application.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to communications and inquiries.
  • Work remotely to review documents, prepare reports, and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely completion of tasks and adherence to project timelines.


Requirements:

  • Degree in Urban Planning, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in handling planning applications, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and environmental impact assessments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
  • Access to a vehicle for occasional site visits.
