Job Description

The Quality Precision Inspector will be responsible for inspecting mechanical components to engineering drawings for our client who specialise in the design, manufacture, supply, and servicing of FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) machinery. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections of mechanical components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings.
  • Report all non-conformance to the assigned lead technician and supplier.
  • Enter relevant information into computer systems and complete paperwork for tracking non-conformance of inspected parts.
  • Utilise appropriate hand tools, Hexagon Metrology CMM, and Portable Measuring Arm for quality control within the Inspection and Production area.
  • Ensure products are made to specification and using the latest issue drawings.
  • Brief the project engineer of any quality issues or specification changes.


Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an inspector.
  • Relevant qualifications in engineering or a related field.
  • Proficient in interpreting drawings to BS308 and familiar with geometric tolerances.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills for accessing information and data entry.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Punctual and reliable timekeeper.
  • Flexible approach to work, able to work alone or as part of a team.

Remuneration: £ Competitive, DOE

Working Hours: Full-time, Permanent. 39 hours per week over 4.5 days
